Bill Gates has finally stepped down from full position at Microsoft after 30 years of being in the software industry. Yesterday was Bill Gates last full day at Microsoft as he steps down to Chairmen of Microsoft, the biggest software company in the world. During CES 2008 this video was shown representing Bill Gates last full day at Microsoft:
Bill Gates is using his founds and money for good in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where he gives his money to charity. We will miss this brilliant mind working in the software industry.
So I wonder my self if anyone ever listens to the warnings of keeping your computer secure. Does anyone ever pass on the warning? Is it just a read and say "oh that's not me I'm fine" type of thing? If you have to tell your self that you are fine without actually looking at what you have for protection you might be the one needing the protection. Researcher, David Vorel, mapped out botnet-infected computers with IP Address to show just how bad this problem has become. Recently security has become a big problem is not something to ignore anymore. If your computer is starting to get slow, things are acting weird that's NOT normal. You could be infected, but infections spread so please contact someone either in your neighborhood or someone like me or another expert who can help you. Don't let these problems continue!
I would also do some of my own research and make sure I have the latest protect. Read my past articles about security that have great insight on what programs and software to choose as well as what precautions to take. You can see the map that David Vorel made, here. Security is never something to ignore. I know we can win, the bad guys don't have to win on this one.
Please email () or comment here with your worst infections, security stories, and nightmares, I'd like to hear about them. Your story may even be in my next security article!

This story is a week or so old, the day I prepared this article was when TechData was down. I'm terribly sorry for the late posting. It's till worth reading though.
I almost fell out of my chair when I heard about this one. “Microsoft claims they took out the Storm Worm Botnet”. What was ever funnier was they claim it was their Malware Removal Tool they have been releasing every month. They said it took out so many computers from the botnet that it crumbled. Jimmy Kuo director of the Malware protection center at Microsoft said, “They [the bad guys] realized they were in our gun sights.”
Well it wasn't going to be too long till something had to be done. I knew that Apple wouldn't stay like this forever. They had to do something with Safari before everyone just forgot about it. Within the past month they have included in into the iTunes Auto Updater in hopes to get the browser spread again. You wouldn't believe the results. It's really quite amazing, it worked! Safari's browser market went up over 3 fold. I bet this made some people mad, criticized Apple for this. Really, I don't think it was that bad of an idea. It did work and it worked well in getting people to stop using Internet Explorer (which the most prone to internet attacks).
Protection practices you can take to ensure your computer is safe from the outside world.
Everyday new malware is being created and launched, hackers are thinking up new ways of avoiding detection. What's even more scary is how much your private information will sell for in the black market.
The Symantec Security Response Team posted a blog article about the prices of your information:
Complete Identity $14 - $18
US Credit Card $1 - $6
UK Credit Card $2 - $12
Compromised Computer $6 - $12 (full over-the-internet access to your computer)
Every year a world wide event is held as an experiment to see how many people can go without their computer for 24 hours. This year this event occurs on MAY 3rd, 2008. That is 4 days and 8 hours from now. Can you make it? Please join us May 3rd and do not power on your computer. Turn off your computer May 3rd at midnight and don't turn it on till 12 AM May 4th. A full 24 hours. I'll being doing it as best as I can.
TechData MCS is currently experiencing server problems and database problems. That's why I have not been posting new articles. (I also have a huge line up of new articles waiting to be posted). Please stick with us while we figure out and correct these problems.
